With a file sync client, files can be automatically synchronized between the Cloud server and your devices.
Go to the Google Play Store, and install the Nextcloud app for Android.
Open the app, and click the Log in button.
Enter the Cloud server address: https://cloud.falkenthal.org/
.
Connect to your account by clicking the Log in button.
If prompted, enter the following information and click the Log in button.
Name | Value |
---|---|
Username or Email address | Your Falkenthal username or email address, e.g. sarah or sarah@falkenthal.org |
Password | Your regular Falkenthal account password (not your app password for this Android device) |
if you’ve enabled 2FA for your account, you’ll also be prompted for your TOTP:
Click the Grant access button to grant the sync app access to your cloud account.
The Nextcloud app requires access to file storage on your Android device. Click Allow to continue.
You now have online access to files in your cloud account.
Because mobile devices have limited storage, files aren’t synced for offline access by default. However, you can configure which files/folders you wish to have synced, along with many other options.
Android devices do not offer native CalDAV or CardDAV support at this time, but you can add secure and reliable two-way sync of calendars, tasks, and contacts with a third-party app such as:
DAVx⁵ CalDAV/CardDAV for Android lets you manage and synchronize address books, calendars, and task lists with a single app. Works with your favorite calendar and contacts app.
To set up calendar or contacts synchronization using DAVx⁵ on Android:
Tap the add (+) button to add a new CardDAV/CalDAV account.
